THE COMPANY
Archontoula is a combination restaurant and mezedopoleio set on a quaint cobblestone path in Plaka, in what was a traditional coffee house in the mid-19th century.
It’s a prime example of what happens to cuisine when the traditional and contemporary meet as Archontoula is one of Milos’s most widely-known restaurants. Some dishes to sample are the succulent octopus dressed with vinegar, spicy baked sardines, coq au vin, rabbit stifado (tomato-based stew with pearl onions), shrimp with pasta in a white sauce, pork loin with honey sauce and caramelized vegetables, peppers stuffed with cheese, lightly fried zucchini, eggplant salad with a whole smoked eggplant, and beef in tomato sauce served with linguine. The house special: Archontoula’s pitarakia, small savory pies made with ksinomizithra cheese.
