THE WINERY
The vineyards, the winery (Volcan Wines) and the wine museum located in Santorini Vothonas on the road to Kamari beach. It is a small family business founded by the brothers Gregory and Dimitri Koutsogiannopoulo the year 1880. Today, four generations later, continues to operate with care and supervision of the current owner, George Koutsogiannopoulou. Modern machinery replaced by stainless steel, as was natural wooden utensils and tools. The vinification of the wines made in traditional style and a functional infrastructure building, which houses the production facility and an impressive wine museum natural soutirage 6 meters under the ground and 300 meters long, showing the history of wine and life Santorini farmer from year 1660 until 1950se representations with movable and immovable similarity and automatic personal tour with sound effects. THE MUSEUM
After 19 years of constant effort, the Volcan Wines winery of George Koutsogiannopoulou in Vothonas Santorini, has created a unique natural soutirage Museum of Wine in Greece. 6 meters in depth below the surface, the museum has a total length over 300 meters, with corridors and rooms shaped like maze. With exhibits dating from 1660 to 1970 and referring to the decoration 17th-18th century, the history of wine and the life of a farmer Santorini representations with mobile and stationary models.
