Following my father’s footsteps, I was sentimentally attached to the sea of my home-place since I was 10 years old. I was all day and all night long among fishing nets, the salt water and the wind. Between the blue of the sea and the yellow color of our fishing boat...
Forty years later, me and my family, we still practice the same profession. My father was a fisherman and so am I! Our fishing boat still heads every day, as it always did, to the blue sea of the Cyclades, through the picturesque port of Faros, hoping to have a good fishing day. Lobsters, red mullets, common sea breams, black sea breams and whatever more the life-giving sea has to offer...
I learned the art of fishing from my father, Petros. From my mother, Stella, I got something equally valuable: her good advice. She taught me that the fresh fish needs to be cooked in the proper way and she gave me her delicious recipes. Therefore, with her advice and in her own way she turned me into a fish gourmand.
I would like to share those values with you today. The fishermen tradition, my mother’s advice and my love for the fish and for high quality food. All these elements coexist harmoniously in "Limanaki", the fish tavern that I created with my family, in the heart of Faros. A fish tavern that respects its clients, offering the finest and freshest products that our sea has to offer.
