THE COMPANY

Since 1915, PROMPONAS WINE and LIQUEUR MAKERS have been producing in the traditional way the local Naxos liqueur "CITRON PROMPONAS". A pure extract of citron - tree leafs, without any chemical additives, of unique taste and fine heady aroma.  

The new achievement is the liqueur Ariadne which is made of distillation of the citrus fruit.

 

Tradition goes further than this, though. We also select the best grapes from all over Naxos and produce the UNIQUE LOCAL WINES PROMPONAS.

 

Two distinctive types are Bacchus and Ariadne, made from selected grape varieties to satisfy even the most demanding taste. We also offer the delicious traditional preserves, made from fruits with all their natural fragrance kept in their appealing package.

 

WINES: PROMPONAS produces the only bottled wines in Naxos. Prompona white and red wines are from selected varieties from Komiaki.

 

AWARDS - DIPLOMAS

  • 1936 Golden Award in Thessaloniki.
  • 1936 1st Cycladic Exhibition.
  • 1999 Diploma awarded by the body of the International Exhibition of Food & Drink in Thessaloniki.
  • 2000 Best stand in SYROS 2000 Exhibition of Trade, Products and Modern Home.
  • Stamatis Promponas awarded by the Chamber of Cyclades for his contribution to the financial, social and cultural development of Cyclades.
