Located at the center of Cyclades, Syros is among the smallest islands of the region. Being the capital of Cyclades and having much cultural influence by the Venetians and refugees from Chios, Syros is characterized by a unique combination of tradition and elegance.

These characteristics mentioned above have contributed to the creation and development of extraordinary products and tastes. For the last two centuries at least, Syros is worldwide known of its famous Greek delights and almond nugats, witch are still produced with traditional recipes brought by refugees from Chios after the destruction of their island at 1822, and the use of water from local springs in the productive process.
