Twenty years ago, Papageorgiou family discovered a hidden gem on Tinos — a land of ancient olive trees and citrus groves and crawling vines, near the historic Ursuline School.
Guided by deep respect for nature and tradition, they created Messaréa Winery, a modern bioclimatic winery that blends seamlessly into the island’s landscape.
On restored stone terraces, they cultivated local and indigenous varieties such as Potamisi, Rozaki, Assyrtiko, Mavrotragano, and Koumariano, reviving the island’s rich winemaking heritage.
The winery’s emblem — the nymph Philyra and the centaur Chiron — symbolizes harmony, wisdom, and a deep bond with nature.
Today, Messaréa Winery’s wines capture the distinctive terroir of Tinos, offering expressions of authenticity, purity, and elegance.
Each bottle tells the story of a land where tradition meets innovation, and where the past inspires the future.
