Locanda Apartments is a small pension in Syros (Achladi beach, Vari village), it started operating in the summer of 2006 with the permission of the Hellenic Organization of Tourism. Originally, the main building was a monastery of the Sisters Sompsioniston (frères assomptionnistes) until 1999. This stone house, in the 1960s, was the summer residence of the monks and later functioned as a children's camp site with mostly young people from France. Currently, it consists of 7 single and double diverse apartments fully equipped. The stone construction of the building, the high ceilings, the proper space arrangement with doors, windows and skylights create the right conditions for good ventilation and cooling in the summer months. Nevertheless the rooms have ceiling fans.
In the small reception there is a library with useful information for tourists such as: publications and books of the history and culture about Syros island and Cyclades. There is also photo album of Syros island. In selected areas of the courtyard there are benches below the pines. During the stay local products are offered. Also, tours of the island can be arranged on residents demand.
In the western part of Locanda Apartments (just 20 meters away) is the M Hall within trees, where seminars, lectures and exhibitions are carried out. The interior space is about 80 m2 and has a TV, DVD, projector, screen and music installation.
The bus stop to Hermoupolis and for the villages is within 20 meters while Achladi beach is approximately 100 meters.
