THE COMPANY
In Kourounohori (on the way to Flerio) we can find a typical renovated farmhouse from 1870 belonging to the Touloupi family and currently works as a handicraft center.
In the name of globalization that flattens everything over time, in order to rescue the folklore tradition, we created in this space- with great love and passion, a weaving workshop and embroidery made according to traditional ways. It works as a place of production, sales and education.
The songs remind us of Naxos's relationship with the woman's loom, embroidery, lace and the value of the creatures. Value not only aesthetic but also functional.
It was an honour and praise for a woman to be "kentistra" or weaver. With the works of their hands dressed their family, decorate their homes and they made the dowry of their daughters. Each piece was actually a unique creation. It was made by love and dreams.
Nowadays, all these can be found concentrated in this traditional village house. In the reception area or "budi" (veranda) will quench your thirst with a cool water from the source of the youth, admiring amongst other things, the architecture of the house and the green valley of Melanes.
