             The ancient craft of potter’s wheel, witch made Sifnos

                           for hundreds of years the supplier of Greece and

                                Mediterranean in household items, when the word "tsikalas"

                                                        (potter) became synonymous to Sifnian people.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

This same craft continues till today to be held by the workshop "En Sifno" – Apostolidis, handed down from generation to generation within a tradition of over 100 years. This craft that can be seen by someone closely through all its stages. To watch the soil turned into a subjected, to take shape and usability and at the same time be able to make it his own. Ceramics born in the image of their creators, taking life by their hands, all unique but different from each other, a privilege attributed to all handmade items.

 

 

 

And that is in fact what makes them unique…

 

… because the difference from the standards makes the authentic have a unique value.
