Amorgos is situated at the eastern Cyclades. Here, one can meet beautiful sandy beaches at the west side of the island, easily accessible by roads, while at the inner terrene lies Chora, with its traditional small white houses build at the top of the hill around Kastro.

Build with traditional elements and decorated with much taste and enthusiasm, Castelopetra guaranties you a calm and relaxing accommodation at the island of Amorgos. All of our recently renovated, comfortable, rooms overlook to the bay of Katapola, thus offering to our guests moments of relaxation with panoramic views to the beautiful sunset.

The complex is situated 2 kilometers away from the port of Katapola, offering transfers from and to it during arrival and departure. A parking area is also available, as well as a buss stop, just outside the complex, offering access to most of the island's spots.

Katapola is the most crowded and cosmopolitan place to be, in Amorgos. The village has quit a few taverns, cafes, bars, stores with traditional products, mini markets and tourist offices. With much respect toward tradition, we created the comfortable and welcoming complex Castelopetra.

All rooms are equipped with: television, private bathroom, hair dryer, refrigerator, kitchen, daily maid services, air condition and verandas with beautiful view to the sea.

Amorgos is situated at the eastern Cyclades, constituting the 7th biggest island in size, of the region. Being quite close to Astypalea, it is also a bridge connecting Cyclades with Dodecanise.

The island extents 121 sq.klm and the length of its costs reaches 112 klm. The island terrene is mountainous and rocky. The wild beauty of its upland terrenes, combined with the continental green valleys, give the island a unique character.

The beaches of Amorgos are also famous of their cleanliness and their crystal waters. Their natural beauty, along with the effect of the Aegean Sea, witch moisturizes the beaches and cools off the wild rocky costs, create the ideal environment for a unique vacation. The island is also known if its two natural harbours.

The first is situated at the bay of Katapola and the second at Aigiali.

Due to its geographical position, that is opposite to Ionian cities (Efesos, Alikarnasos, Militos), Amorgos has been among the first medians of the Ionians to cross the Cyclades. The ruins of the three ancient cities, Arsekini, Aigiali and Minoa, reveal several aspects of the islands' history. Like most of the islands of the Cyclades region, Amorgos meet the Venetian and Turkish rule, as well as many pirate raids. Nevertheless, the island managed to maintain its identity and the inhabitants, their unique culture and traditions. This fact is still visible today, when observing the architectural structure of Chora and the other villages, and the lifestyle of the locals.

Skopelitis Experss ferry also connects Amorgos to the Small Cyclades, that is Koufonisia, Schoinousa, Iraklia and Donousa, and Naxos, offering you the chance of daily cruises. A daily response is available from Naxos to Piraeus, by boat.
