MYKONOS (ANO MERA)
The viticulture was blooming in Mykonos since ancient times. As time went by various junctures suspended much of the viticulture, such as war, immigration and at least, tourism.
But since 1994 Nikos Asimomitis returned to the island of Mykonos and launched the renovation of the vineyard of Panagia Tourlianis in Elia, Mykonos. Besides this vineyard he renovated other abandoned vineyards and nowadays almost
In March 2000 the individual enterprise evolved into SA 78% of which belongs to the winery NICK LAZARIDIS SA . The summer of 2006 began construction work of a wine factory which includes production sites, underground cellar, office space, a reception area, catering and a guesthouse.
In Mykonos are being cultivated varieties from the Aegean Sea (Assyrtiko, Athiri, Aidani, Monemvasia and Mandilaria) and the foreign varieties Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah. The vineyards are in a row with low elevation because of strong winds.
The production of the company amounts to approximately 60,000 bottles annually, which are mainly distributed in all parts of Greece. A small percentage earmarked for export to Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, the Czech Republic and the USA.
