The traditional metalwork in Syros was developed from the need to meet the high demand in metal structures in neoclassic houses of the early 20th century, when Syros was one of the most developed cities in Greece, with considerable craft and industrial activity.
Local craftsmen learned to imitate the imported neoclassical style, adding their imagination and creativity to create masterpieces of metalwork.
L. Roussos firm, 50 years ago began as a traditional family industry. From father to son and following the tradition, adding skills, technology and expertise, developed in one of the major units of the type in the Cyclades.
