The hagiography workshop Apocalypsis, at Chora of Mykonos, is the place in witch Merkourios Demopoulos creates icons of Byzantine art since 1987.

Merkourios applies solely old Byzantine methods and techniques, using rare and natural materials of high quality. The wood is covered with cabot and putties with rabbit skin glue and gesso from Bologna.

Real 22 carat golden leaves are used for the gild. The painting is made with the usage of natural pigments, mixed with yolk.

The themes of the icons are copies of works of great masters, from 9^th till the 16^th century, found only in churches, monasteries, museums and private collections.

The quality and the aesthetic perfection of the icons created by Merkourios is worldwide recognised by Greek and foreign artists, collectors and art historians.
