Vasilis Depastas was born in 1982 and raised in Sifnos. At the age of 15, as soon as he completed high school, he got involved with pottery, taught by his grandfather, Vasilis Depastas. He took over in 2000, keeping many of the traditional techniques, since he makes the clay himself and uses the wood burning furnace for some types of ceramics.

Until today he has taken part in the exhibitions of plastic artists and potters in Fyrogia, in the first exhibition of Sifnos Potters Union in the summer of 2002, also in Fyrogia and in the Tourist Panorama 2003.

He is a member of the Board of Executives of the Union. His workshop and exhibition can be found on the way to Herronisos.
