It was in 1917 when, Evangelos Kritsinis founded a small winery in Syros producing Ouzo, Brandy, Masticha, Kitro, Rigani, wine and spirits of any type, such as retsina, Mavrodaphni and Vermouth, which were awarded with a silver medal at Thessaloniki International Exhibition in 1935.

The company quickly reach maturity, and in 1955 received the torch his son Alexandros (chemical - oenologist), who expanded it even more to deliver it to his son and grandson of the founder, George Kritsinis in 1990, who followed the footsteps of his predecessors and devoted completely to the evolution of the business in a dynamic way, giving new impetus particularly in the field of wine.

In 1994 he presented his first standard wine, the «Wine Kritsini» in three types (white, rose and red) and in 1997, on the occasion of 80 years of the firm, he introduced a new fine red wine, named «80 YEARS OINOPNEVMATOPOLION KRITSINI» from the red varieties Aigiorgitiko and Cabernet Sauvignon in 2430 bottles.

In 2007 a new collector's wine is introduced, named «90 YEARS OINOPNEVMATOPOLION KRITSINI» (1917-2007), from the cosmopolitan varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 16 months in oak barrels of Troncais, in 2007 numbered bottles.

The immediate objective is the establishment of a Wine Friends Club on the island of Syros, with the participation of wine producers, featuring wineries visits, tasting seminars and many other events.
