At the top of the rock is the Monastery of Panagia Kalamiotissa, which according to tradition, the icon was found near the monastery hanging on a pole, so it was named Kalamiotissa.
Built around 1600, the church is a domed single-nave church with high proportions has double-arched bell tower 18th century.
